About the Alaska SEED Registry and ServicePortal Quality Initiative
About Alaska SEED: The Alaska System for Early Education Development (SEED) is housed and managed by thread. Alaska SEED provides a professional development system for early childhood and school-age professionals that includes a workforce registry, a career ladder, a training and trainer approval system, financial supports, and credentialing.
About the ServicePortal: The ServicePortal is the main hub where clients access services from thread, Learn & Grow, and Alaska SEED, such as joining the Alaska SEED Registry. Learn how to log in to the ServicePortal.
This Quality Initiative (QI) focuses on supporting professionals in managing their Alaska SEED Registry Profile within the ServicePortal.
The Alaska SEED Registry and ServicePortal QI will provide training on how to:
- Access and update your Alaska SEED Registry Profile via the ServicePortal
- Register for thread training
- Upload and label documents in your Alaska SEED Registry Profile
- Properly categorize trainings for documentation on the comprehensive transcript and overview
- Allow your administrator access to your Alaska SEED Registry Profile
Eligibility
To be eligible to receive the QI you must:
- Have a current/active membership in the Alaska SEED Registry
- Be an early childhood or school-age professional operating or working as a paid employee of a licensed or approved child care facility.

Requirements
Applicants will:
- Attend and participate in a 2-hour training (see two available options below)
- Complete an activity requiring ServicePortal participation within 5 days of completing the training
- Submit an evaluation within 5 days of the completing the training
Training Options
There are two scheduled options to complete the training requirement:
- Thursday, April 17, 2025, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
- Thursday, May 8, 2025, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Each training session is limited to 70 individuals. Alaska SEED will do its best to provide you with your first choice.
Award
Applicants who successfully complete these requirements will be awarded a $750 stipend and 2 credit hours of Alaska SEED-approved training.
Application
Application Requirements:
- Applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
- Applications are considered complete if: all questions in this application are completed, the applicants has an active/current Alaska SEED Registry profile, and an accurately completed and signed W-9 is attached.
- If applications are not complete they will be moved down on the list of eligible applicants until the required paperwork is submitted.
- If additional information is needed, Alaska SEED will send an email to the email address provided in this application only once. Please make sure the email listed is correct.
- Individuals have 10 business days from the date an email is sent to respond with their Alaska SEED Registry renewal and/or a corrected W-9.
Deadlines: Individuals must complete and submit an application form before the training dates of April 17 or May 8. Because training sessions are limited to 70 individuals, we recommend submitting your application early.
