Work Together Wednesday

April 10, 2019

It’s Work Together Wednesday—time to build something together! When children build together, they explore math and science concepts and develop their
social and early literacy skills.

The process of collaborating with others to create something provides the foundation for skills children will need to succeed as adults in the workplace.
Learning to take turns, working as a team, finding solutions, giving and receiving feedback, and getting along with others are all important skills
required for a strong workforce.

Try this.

Work with your child to build something, whether it’s a block tower or a pillow fort. You can use all kinds of creative materials. Ask questions to inspire
critical thinking, such as “What do you think will happen if we put this here?” Then visit NAEYC.org for more Work Together Wednesday Resources.

What did you build with your family or early childhood classroom today? Share it with us on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #woyc19.

Early educators, take advantage of a free Penn State Better Kid Care distance education module this month! Now through April 26, 2019,
