Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week is April 22 to 26, and is a joint effort of community partners to recognize the professionals working with
children and youth during out-of-school hours.
Nationwide, 10.2 million children take part in afterschool programs, as well as 850,000 afterschool professionals.
The Alaska Afterschool Network recently recognized five of Alaska’s outstanding afterschool professionals who are everyday superheroes to the youth they
work with. Meet them here.

Share online about how your child’s afterschool professional positively impacts your family.
Plan a Celebration
Bring in cupcakes, plan field trips, host gratitude dinners –all of these make a difference in appreciating afterschool professionals!
Engage Your Community
Approach your local school, school district and lawmakers about recognizing Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week on the local level.
The National Afterschool Association provides more, ideas and inspiration on how you can celebrate in your community.
