The following broadcast was released by the Alaska Department of Health Child Care Program Office on April 11, 2025.
The Child Care Program Office (CCPO) is pleased to introduce the Alaska Child Care Information System (AKCCIS), our new database system designed to enhance efficiency and convenience. This system automates and streamlines processes through the provider portal. By reducing administrative tasks for both providers and CCPO staff, AKCCIS makes the licensing processes more efficient.
As many of you have begun receiving automated system notifications, such as reminders to submit biennial license applications, we appreciate your patience as we work to identify and resolve system issues. Please be aware that not all notifications were sent correctly. If you have any questions about a notice you received, please contact your licensing specialist.
What should you do now that the system is live? Providers should follow these steps to gain access to AKCCIS:
- Take the optional AKCCIS Training for Providers located at: https://learn.dhss.alaska.gov/course/view.php?id=781
- Go to AKCCIS.com and create your user account. Follow the Quick Guide: Current Provider User Account Request found at https://akccis.com/client/help.
- Once your user account is created, STOP. Do not attempt to submit biennial license applications, reports of change, etc.. You must FIRST notify your licensing specialist that you have created your user account and need that account to be associated with your AKCCIS facility file.
- Your licensing specialist will validate the association of user account and facility file and let you know when that process is complete.
- Upon receipt of your user account acceptance, go to AKCCIS.com and check it out! You can then submit reports of change, submit a biennial license application, and take other actions in the system.
