Job Description
Provides early childhood education for children 6 weeks-5 years in Child Development Center setting.
Designs, implements, and reviews activity plans. The incumbent uses own initiative to design and implement a variety of activity plans to stimulate and sustain the interest of children and to contribute to their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Observes and evaluates each child's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations. Participates in conferences with parents and program assistants. Prepares and implements specialized programs for children with special needs, i.e., children with disciplinary problems, learning disabilities, or gifted children. Provides technical guidance and leadership to junior employees assigned to assist with program activities and participates in special projects.
