Job Description

Project Description: The Citywide Childcare Cooperative (CCC) brings together community partners to pilot a Worker-Owned Cooperative (WOC) childcare start-up serving families who live and/or work in downtown Anchorage. The CCC pilot program will establish a full-time childcare center for up to 44 children ages 19 months to 5 years old. Unlike most childcare operations, employees in the WOC model are “worker-owners'' empowered to create, own, and democratically control business decisions. WOCs are values-based entities built on principles of concern for the community, cooperation, member autonomy, participation, and shared learning. The goal of CCC is to bring together worker-owners and invested community partners to provide affordable, high-quality, licensed childcare, and serve as a catalyst for robust workforce development and worker-owner entrepreneurship.
