The following broadcast was released by the Alaska Child Care Program Office on Sept. 23, 2021
As you may recall the Child Care Program Office (CCPO) issued a broadcast in May 2021 regarding the cyberattack on the Department of Health and Social Services website. For the latest updates and progress on restoring services, please refer to the department’s website.
While the department is in the process of restoring its systems, the Integrated Child Care Information System (ICCIS) is still under review and testing. This system aids in Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) benefits issuance and provider payment processing. We’re using alternative systems and methods until access to ICCIS is restored. This has resulted in longer than normal turnaround on payments. The CCPO would like to reassure providers that we are working as fast as possible and anticipate faster payment processing once ICCIS is online.
While offices are managing the workload it would help to defer status requests for payments that have not been issued in less than 21 days from the date the CCAP Request for Payment was submitted and received by the CCPO. This will allow the office to dedicate more time for processing. If a request is received within the 21 day timeframe of submission, providers may receive verbiage from this broadcast instead of a personalized message.
As confirmation of payment, CCPO will send child care providers a copy of their request for payment to reflect payments made for each child. This should ensure providers have a record that payment has been made until access to ICCIS is fully restored.
Thank you for your patience with this situation and for caring for Alaska’s children and families.
