The following broadcast was released by the Alaska Child Care Program Office on Oct. 1, 2021
It has been one month since the opening of the Phase-1 COVID-19 Child Care Stabilization Grant Program and the Child Care Program Office (CCPO) has received 337 applications so far, representing approximately 67 percent of eligible providers. Our aim is to award 100 percent of providers who are eligible for a stabilization grant.
The CCPO is pleased to say payments are on schedule and are beginning to be issued as early as next week. If your organization hasn’t applied for a phase one grant and is interested in learning more, please visit thread’s website at https://www.threadalaska.org/covidrelief/ for application assistance options, namely:
- How-to videos
- Answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Email for help
The CCPO and thread are working diligently to verify, approve and process applications. Although we’re unable to provide status on a provider’s application while it’s under review, providers will receive email notification from thread once the application and signature process are completed and after an application has been reviewed, verified, and approved. In some circumstances, however, thread will notify providers by phone or email if they have any questions about the provider’s application. Payment processing time is 60 business days from receipt and approval of a provider’s application.
The CCPO, with support from thread, is using information from phase one applications to help determine amounts and frequency of payments in future phases. We’re planning to announce phase two grant applications between January and March of 2022.
Thank you for your continued commitment to Alaska’s children and families.
