Chris Sturm

Chris Sturm is the Clinical Director for Effective Behavior Interventions at UAA’s Center for Human Development. He is a Licensed Behavior Analyst consulting with teams who support children and adults experiencing complex, challenging behaviors. Mr. Sturm’s work takes him around the state working in homes, community settings and schools. Previously, he worked with the Alaska Pyramid Partnership supporting the Pyramid Model in early childhood. Mr. Sturm has a Master’s in Early Childhood from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where he studied with Lillian Katz.

His journey to Alaska started over twenty years ago when he and his wife came to visit her brother. He enjoys biking, hiking, reading non-fiction and music – playing guitar and consuming all genres. Mr. Sturm serves on thread’s Board of Directors because they are doing incredible work developing the system of early care and learning in the state. And he believes that the greatest impact in a person’s life is during those first 5 years.
