From the Child Care Program Office

The Child Care Program Office (CCPO) has identified Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) savings as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and decreases in child care attendance. As a return, the CCPO would like to provide additional support to families through a waiver of family co-payments (co-pays).

The CCPO is pleased to announce co-pays are waived for the service months of January, February, and March 2021 for families with a PASS II or PASS III Child Care Assistance Authorization. This temporary waiver will apply to families who have a co-pay for the service months of December 2020, January and February 2021.

In partnership with child care providers participating in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), providers will help to support families by applying the co-pay amount that the CCPO pays to them directly, to family accounts for the service months of January, February, and March 2021. The amount paid by the CCPO will be the co-pay amount identified on the family’s authorization document for each month prior. Child Care providers may still collect amounts in excess of the reimbursable rate or any difference between actual co-pay amount and what is paid by the CCPO.

Co-pays will not be paid to child care providers in situations in which a child did not attend at least one day of care in the service month prior to the payment months.

When child care providers submit their monthly request for payment CC78 forms to the CCPO for the service months of December 2020, January and February 2021, the CCPO automatically will pay the previous month’s co-pay amount at the same time. Child care providers do not need submit any additional documentation.

If you have questions about the information in this broadcast, please contact the Child Care Program Office at dpaccp@alaska.gov or 269-4500 and request to speak to someone from the Eligibility and Benefits Team regarding the waiver of family co-pays broadcast notification.

Thank you,

Child Care Program Office

[51,50,47
["post-37525","thread-blog","type-thread-blog","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","news_tags-ccpo","news_tags-child-care-assistance","news_tags-early-childhood-education-programs

Topic: Child Care Assistance Program – Waiver of Family Co-Payments
