{"id":37520,"date":"2020-12-11T19:31:03","date_gmt":"2020-12-12T04:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging2.threadalaska.org\/thread-blog\/naeyc-survey-results-programs-face-a-bleak-future-without-relief-3\/"},"modified":"2020-12-11T19:31:03","modified_gmt":"2020-12-12T04:31:03","slug":"naeyc-survey-results-programs-face-a-bleak-future-without-relief-3","status":"publish","type":"thread-blog","link":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/thread-blog\/naeyc-survey-results-programs-face-a-bleak-future-without-relief-3\/","title":{"rendered":"NAEYC Survey Results: Nationally, Programs Face a Bleak Future without Relief"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The child care sector has sacrificed and struggled to serve children and families since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Association for the Education of Young Children\u2019s (NAEYC) latest survey, completed between Nov. 13 to 29 by more than 6,000 early childhood educators working in 289 child care programs, shows that <strong>the national crisis facing child care is just as consistent and devastating today as it was back in early 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Survey Findings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>93% of survey respondents work in programs that, to date, have managed\u2014often at great personal and professional cost\u2014to remain open for the children and families they serve.<\/li><li>Nearly half of survey respondents reported that they know of multiple centers or homes in their community that have closed permanently.
