\n\tIt’s the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)’s Week of the Young Child, and today is Family Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tFamilies are the first and most important teachers in the lives of young children. Family Friday is a time to celebrate your family’s unique story, and to focus on building your family’s strengths. Alaska’s Strengthening Families<\/a> initiative promotes five “protective factors” that make a family strong and reduce the risk of child maltreatment.
