We\u2019re celebrating the Week of the Young Child<\/a> and today\u2019s theme\u2014Artsy Thursday\u2014is
\n all about children getting creative. Art of all kinds is a great outlet for stress, anxiety, or other strong emotions children may be feeling right
\n now.<\/p>\n

The best kinds of art projects for young children are open-ended ones, where there is no pre-determined final product. The joy of open-ended art is in
\n the process, not the product. Open-ended art allows children to make choices, use their imaginations, and create with their hands. Art also helps children
\n develop fine motor skills, critical thinking skills, social skills, and problem solving skills.<\/p>\n

Provide a variety of art materials such as paper, clay, crayons, paint, glue, string, or dry pasta. Let them decide which materials to work with and what
\n they will create. Or try making a collage with items found outside, such as twigs, leaves, pine cones, or rocks. Display your child\u2019s artwork to help
\n them feel valued and proud of their accomplishment.<\/p>\n
