Grant funds may not be used for construction or major renovation of facilities. (See funding categories below.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goals of the grant are to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>improve\/expand existing child care facilities. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase access to child care by expanding the number of seats available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Eligibility<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#1f1f1f\">Child care programs that are open, operating and licensed in the State of Alaska or Municipality of Anchorage are eligible to apply for this grant. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Grant Awards<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Grant awards will support projects between $3,000 to $50,000. Projects outside this range won&#8217;t necessarily be declined but may not be within the scope of this available funding.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projects may be funded fully, partially, or declined based on the review process.<strong>  <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Proposal Requirements<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>To submit a proposal, the following information must be completed\/submitted: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed proposal form\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Project contact information <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify funding category<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Description of project (including description, goals, beneficiaries, sustainability) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Detailed project budget <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed IRS Form W-9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Funding Categories  <\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Allowable funding categories include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facility maintenance and improvement of child care facilities that are designed to increase the overall supply of child care (i.e., remodeling to open a new classroom, installing a sprinkler system to increase licensed capacity).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improvements to child care facility that helps the business maintain licensing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minor renovations to support program needs for staff, families, &amp; children, (i.e., renovating bathrooms or other shared spaces, installing railings and ramps to ensure children are cared for in safe and developmentally appropriate setting, making your space more ADA compliant).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outdoor space-playground equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vehicles (i.e., for transporting children, fieldtrips).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-consumable classroom upgrades (i.e., learning center small furniture and equipment).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equipment and technology (i.e., monies to upgrade internet\/static IP address, computers for teachers, iPad for classroom).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curriculum and memberships (i.e., Babydoll Circle Time, Zoo annual membership, Children\u2019s Museum annual membership).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Concrete supports in time of need (i.e., extra clothing and gear, resources for parents).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Grant funds may <strong>not<\/strong> be used for (new) construction, major renovation, land purchase, food, tuition discounts, rent, operating expenses, wages and benefits (including bonuses), fieldtrips and experiences. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Review Criteria <\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p>Grant proposals will be reviewed and evaluated on: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overall quality of proposal <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project design (Key activities are clearly described)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Program need<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outcome(s) (Significant degree of change) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainability <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Budget (Appropriate for scope) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a competitive grant, and proposals will be measured against all received applications within the funds available.&nbsp;Emphasis will be given to need and outcome.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Grant Notification Date<\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#1f1f1f\">Successful project proposals will be notified via email and\/or phone of decision by June 30, 2023.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\">Grant Period Date<\/summary><div
