{"id":41808,"date":"2025-01-15T15:12:55","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T00:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/?post_type=jobs&#038;p=41808"},"modified":"2025-01-15T15:13:10","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T00:13:10","slug":"head-start-regional-manager","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/jobs\/head-start-regional-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Head Start Regional Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>JOB SUMMARY:&nbsp;Operation management of assigned Head Start sites; leading a team of coordinators in the provision of services and training; providing technical assistance to assigned sites; and, acting as liaison with Parent Committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This position is 43 weeks per year, from August 1st thru the end of May.&nbsp; The salary amount is based on a work schedule of 43 weeks per year.&nbsp; Summer work may be available as funding permits.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care licensing regulations (as required), Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines, RurAL CAP and Head Start Policies and Procedures\/Integrated Work Plan at each assigned site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manages operations of assigned sites including, but not limited to supervision of direct reports, managing annual inventories, and ensuring facilities are maintained and are safe for staff and children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides on-site monitoring of sites and training of staff at least two (2) times per year; usually in the fall and in the spring.\u00a0 Additional travel may be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partner with component coordinators in providing services, training and technical assistance to assigned sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead monthly regional team meetings with all regional component staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible for staff hiring, professional development, mandatory training, evaluation, and team building with assigned sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provides supervisory leadership and technical assistance to sites and ensures clear lines of authority and channels of communication for staff and parents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works with site staff, Budget Coordinator, and Operations Manager with Head Start Director approval, to maintain budgets and expend funds in accordance with grant terms\/conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible for Parent Committee training and support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensures Parent Committee\u2019s are established at the beginning of the school year and meet monthly in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitors Parent Committee minutes, ensuring site supervisors post for all parents, filed appropriately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversees Parent Activity Account funds, ensuring compliance with fiscal regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In partnership with the Operations Manager, establishes and\/or maintains partnerships with applicable agencies\/organizations to advocate for responsive and effective quality services for children and families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitors and ensures timely collection of required data from each assigned site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submits required written reports and information necessary for monthly reports, quarterly reports, federal, state, and program information reports; and site budget projections and other reports as requested in a timely manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional reporting requirements as deemed appropriate by Operations Manager<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participates in meetings and trainings as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible for all coding, approval, and submission of site invoices into Sage Intacct and Key Bank P-card systems in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>POSITION TYPE\/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.\u00a0 Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TRAVEL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel is primarily local during the business day. Frequent travel to and within rural Alaskan communities by small plane and alternate ground transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be at least 18 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprints.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood education, Human Services, or related; plus (3) years administrative and supervisory experience; OR 10 years of equivalent experience in a qualifying field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated ability to supervise employees (both directly and indirectly) including long distance training and technical support, team building, and evaluating work performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated ability to successfully interpret and implement Head Start Performance Standards, company and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of business and management principles involved in leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge and demonstrated ability to utilize the structure and content of the English language including spelling, rules of composition, and grammar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated computer skills necessary in order to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must attend at least 15 hours of professional development training annually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effective organizational and time management skills to maintain daily work flow and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must provide a TB screening and basic physical exam within thirty (30) days of hire with follow-up every three (3) years at employee\u2019s expense.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must pursue an ongoing professional development plan that may include a formal training certification or college degree as recommended by the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem-solving and decision-making.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform basic assignments with little or no direct supervision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated ability to contribute to and participate in a team-based work environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in all appropriate training functions: developing and leading workshops, presenting at conferences, etc., as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of and respect for social, cultural, and economic conditions in rural Alaska.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of and experience in rural Alaskan way of life with strong competence in multi-ethnic environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with Head Start Programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with Early Childhood Education in a classroom setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","jobs_category":[38],"class_list":["post-41808","jobs","type-jobs","status-publish","hentry","jobs_category-non-thread"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Head Start Regional Manager - Thread<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/jobs\/head-start-regional-manager\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Head Start Regional Manager - Thread\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"JOB SUMMARY:&nbsp;Operation management of assigned Head Start sites; leading a team of coordinators in the provision of services and training; providing technical assistance to assigned sites; and, acting as liaison...
