Supervises students in a safe, structured, positive environment. Encourages learning and social skill development. Designs and leads a variety of recreational crafts and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High school diploma or GED.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Twelve semester credits in early childhood development, CDA (Childhood Development Associate), or courses approved by the State childcare licensing agency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be 21 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Associates degree preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior experience working in a professional childcare organization preferred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CPR, first-aid and certificate in district-approved behaviorial management techniques may be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Valid Alaska driver&#8217;s license required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowledge of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Principles and practices of daycare\/childcare.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regulatory and subsidy requirements as they affect RALLY.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RALLY policy and procedure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alaska Administrative Code for licensed childcare centers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal computers and related software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>School district policy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Early childhood development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Child behavior management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Principles of supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ability to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide technical leadership in onsite daycare operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review job applications and schedule staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establish and work to a budget.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plan snack menus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Procure program supplies and materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop, implement, and enforce discipline strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operate a personal computer and related software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain effective working relationships with other people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>COMPENSATION: This is a 12-month position, working 32.5 hours per week during the school year and working up to 37.5 hours per week when school is not in session, with a starting salary of $29.55 per hour.
