Our current Owner\/Director has been with the school for over 20 of those years! We are a tight knit group of educators that have a passion for Montessori and our community at large. We are looking for a fun-loving individual who shares that same spirit to join our already stellar group of educators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are seeking several assistant teachers in both our Pre-K and Toddler classrooms. Current MACTE-accredited students are strongly encouraged to apply to complete your year-long practicum; assistance with relocation and housing costs will be considered for the right candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supervise and guide children during lunch, nap or on excursions (all weather) and assist in the implementation or daily program activities together with the Lead Teacher and other assistants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display professionalism when communicating with staff, students, and families.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with children ages 15 months \u2013 6 years old in a loving and nurturing way, with a healthy respect for the child\u2019s independence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend professional development meetings and school events as a member of the Puffin community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display a loving and caring demeanor to implement positive discipline methods that align with the schools\u2019 high standards of caregiving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Will commit to serving our students for at least one full school year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have experience in a Montessori classroom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 years of full-time work experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MACTE or AMS accredited Montessori Credential or are currently enrolled in a training program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>**We are willing to invest in training costs for the right candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We offer very competitive wages, paid time off, 3 weeks paid vacation per year in addition to accrued PTO, tuition reimbursement, professional development allowance, and advancement opportunities for dedicated individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fulltime employees qualify for health benefit reimbursement after 1 year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","jobs_category":[38],"class_list":["post-40375","jobs","type-jobs","status-publish","hentry","jobs_category-non-thread"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.0 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Classroom Assistant - Thread<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/jobs\/classroom-assistant\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Classroom Assistant - Thread\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Puffin Heights is a private preschool in Anchorage, AK and we have been educating our community for over 40 years!
