{"id":38760,"date":"2023-09-07T10:06:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T18:06:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/?post_type=jobs&#038;p=38760"},"modified":"2023-09-07T10:06:47","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T18:06:47","slug":"program-supervisor-anchorage-child-development-center","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/jobs\/program-supervisor-anchorage-child-development-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Program Supervisor\u2013Anchorage Child Development Center"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>JOB SUMMARY:&nbsp;Management of the licensed childcare center operations to ensure compliance with all state and municipality licensing requirements and best practices as determined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and scheduling of CDC and Anchorage-based Head Start staff; conducting staff performance evaluations, orientation, on-going support and training of staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promotes a safe work environment and complies with safety guidelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state licensing regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, and RurAL CAP and Head Start\/Early Head Start Policies and Procedures and the Head Start Work Plan.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state sanitation and safety regulations and Child &amp; Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines, to include traditional foods guidelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage all aspects of billing for monthly tuition to families and other childcare assistance agencies facilitating payments and issuing payment plans as necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishes partnerships with parents that are respectful, culturally sensitive and nonjudgmental.<br>Analyzes issues and projects thoroughly; obtains and uses available resources; develops appropriate and creative solutions; acts in a timely manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate professional learning events as related CDC needs and areas of professional expertise, including coordinating and support event planning with co-trainers to ensure development of working agendas, assistance with presentation outlines, design and content focus, development of appropriate pre and post training methods and activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate on internal and cross-departmental work teams to advance the department and organization continuous quality improvement efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintains a working knowledge of the assigned Head Start program services, curricula and models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In partnership with the Early Learning Programs Manager, plans for current and future financial needs for the CDC, enrollment capacity, personnel management and child transitions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works with site staff, EL Programs Manager, and RurAL CAP Budget Coordinator to develop and maintain budget and expend funds in accordance with grant terms\/conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fosters team effort, cooperation, and positive morale among staff members; seeking guidance from the EL Programs Manager when needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducts and documents monthly staff meetings; attends regular supervisory meetings and all required training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works in conjunction with the Regional Manager for Head Start for the suspension and\/or termination of staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accountable for all aspects of CDC and Anchorage HS staff to include; new hire paperwork, timesheets, PTO requests and scheduling and staff supervision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Establishes a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children, including using the principles of Active Supervision at all times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducts regular classroom observations of staff to ensure quality programming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follows RurAL CAP agency, Child Development Center and Head Start program policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead quality initiatives for the program in partnership with the EL Programs Manager.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborates with the Head Start team and EL Programs Manager to assist in the development of outreach and recruitment materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible for producing and updating program forms, family handbook, policies and procedures under the direction of the EL Programs Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supervises the work of assigned staff to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems as they arise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interprets and communicates work procedures and company policies to provide assigned staff with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members and getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discusses job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.<br>Trains and instructs employees in job duties and company policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluates assigned staff\u2019s job performance and conformance to regulations and recommends appropriate personnel action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be at least 21 years of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprints.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Child Development Associate or Associate Degree required in related fields of early childhood education, human services, social work, psychology with relevant work experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong written communication skills including proofreading and editing.<br>Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must pursue an ongoing professional development plan including formal training certification or college degree as recommended by the program and attend 15 hours of professional development training annually.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem solving and decision-making and perform basic assignment with little or no direct supervision while also working effectively as a team member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated intermediate level of computer skills necessary in order to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must provide a TB screening and basic physical exam within thirty (30) days of hire with follow-up every three (3) years at employee\u2019s expense.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum of three years relevant experience with the following: children and families, impact of trauma with children, understanding of early childhood developmental needs and facilitating training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to be flexible, innovative and adapt to the changing needs of the program, department, and organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and awareness of, as well as commitment to, contemporary issues of inclusion, diversity, access, and equity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cultural competency with Alaska Native, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ families.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Early Childhood field experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous work, with or in a nonprofit organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience using ChildPlus, Procare or other member tracking database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge or experience in Head Start or Early Head Start program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>RurAL CAP is an Equal Opportunity Employer and abides by the federal, state and local laws and regulations.
