Alaska SEED is housed and managed by&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/\">thread<\/a><\/strong>, Alaska\u2019s Child Care Resource and Referral Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-seed-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-372b7d545730a5e586902afbd154572a\">Then<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alaska SEED was created in 2001 at the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/uas.alaska.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Alaska Southeast<\/a>, funded with federal grant dollars, with two major goals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build a professional development infrastructure for early care and learning providers in Alaska.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide direct assistance to individuals in the early care and learning workforce to increase levels of professional development.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2008, Alaska SEED was moved and is now housed and managed by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/\">thread<\/a>&nbsp;at its Anchorage office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-seed-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-853f3c115516ce8f374bd8aea30ef5ad\">Now<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alaska SEED continues its work with funding from the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/dhss.alaska.gov\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services<\/a>.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/seed\/about-seed\/alaska-seed-committees\">The Alaska SEED Steering Committee<\/a>, with staff support from&nbsp;<strong>thread<\/strong>, is actively working on goals identified in its recent&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.threadalaska.org\/seed\/about-seed\/professional-development-plan\">Professional Development Plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>History of Alaska SEED Alaska System for Early Education Development (Alaska SEED) is a system of professional development for Alaska\u2019s field of early childhood and school-age education.
