If you are having difficulties with NABCS, please contact the Background Check Program directly.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>BCP Contact Information\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Website:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/health.alaska.gov\/dhcs\/pages\/cl\/bgcheck\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Background Check Program (alaska.gov)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phone: 907-334-4475<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email:&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:BCUnit@alaska.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BCUnit@alaska.gov<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Application<\/strong><strong>Submission:&nbsp;<\/strong>In Alaska, all background check applications MUST be submitted via the NABCS online system (paper applications are no longer accepted).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Website:&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/health.alaska.gov\/dhcs\/Documents\/NABCS%20Deployment%20Documents\/Provider-User-Guide.pdf\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Alaska Background Check System Provider User Guide (NABCS)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5-Year Renewal:&nbsp;<\/strong>NABCS requires individuals to renew their background checks every 5 years.&nbsp; Those who transitioned to the NABCS 5 years ago are either past due or almost due for renewal.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Just over five years ago, the MOA began to transition licensed childcare programs in the MOA to using the NABCS system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BCP Account<\/strong>: It is recommended that child care programs regularly access their BCP account to assure they have current access and to check expiration dates for their employees or family members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online Application Requirements<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Whitelisting<\/strong>: New and renewal NABCS background check applications MUST be submitted online from a computer with a secure connection.&nbsp; To establish a secure connection, the NABCS system requires \u201cwhitelisting\u201d the static IP address of the computer that is being used to submit the application. This simply means that the computer\u2019s IP address is shared with NABCS system, and the NABCS system enters that computer\u2019s IP address on their \u201cwhitelist\u201d so information can be securely exchanged between that computer and the NABCS system.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whitelisting FAQs:&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/health.alaska.gov\/dhcs\/Documents\/Residential-Licensing-Background\/BCP\/BCP-Whitelisting-FAQ.pdf\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BACKGOUND CHECK PROGRAM WHITELISTING PROCESS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (alaska.gov)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Static IP<\/strong>: A static IP address is required for NABCS whitelisting to occur, which means the computer\u2019s IP address does not change. &nbsp;Options for arranging a static IP address include:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internet Service Provider (ISP): To make arrangements for a static IP address, contact your local ISP. This may require a business account with the provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Virtual Private Network (VPN): An alternative is to use a VPN.&nbsp; In this scenario, the VPN gateway has a dedicated static IP address that can be whitelisted.&nbsp; Many companies provide VPN services, learn more&nbsp;<a
