The following broadcast was released by the Alaska Child Care Program Office on Dec. 30, 2021
The Child Care Program Office (CCPO) Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) have realized savings because of decreased child care attendance during the pandemic. Accordingly, the Child Care Program Office waived family co-payments (co-pays) for the months of October and December 2020, January and February 2021, and June through December 2021. The CCPO is pleased to announce that it will continue to waive co-pays for the service months of January through June 2022 for families who have been issued a State of Alaska Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Authorization.
The amount paid by the CCPO will be the co-pay amount listed on the family’s authorization for each service month of care. Child care providers may continue to collect from families any amounts in excess of the reimbursable rate and co-pays paid by the CCPO.
When child care providers submit their monthly CCAP Request for Payment CC78 forms to the CCPO for the service months of January through June 2022, the CCPO automatically will pay the monthly co-pay amount at the same time. Child care providers do not need to submit any additional documentation.
Co-pays will not be paid to child care providers in situations in which a child did not attend at least one day of care in the service month for which they are requesting payment.
