Alaska SEED is excited to announce important updates to the early childhood/school-age professional career ladder, including more credentials and certificates for early educators!
The early childhood/school-age career ladder recognizes professional development milestones for Alaska SEED Registry members working in early childhood and school-age education, including military and tribal child care, school district pre-K and elementary school classrooms (K-3), Head Start/Early Head Start programs, school-age only programs, in-home visiting, and Early Childhood degree-seeking students.
Updates to the career ladder since Nov. 1 include:
- Details on Level 6-8 credentials have been moved to the second page
- Lifeways Early Childhood Certificate now added to Level 6
- Montessori Credential, issued by MACTE-accredited institute, now added to Level 8
- For Alaska SEED early childhood related fields, coursework must now meet four out of seven Alaska SEED Core Knowledge and Competencies standards

What is Alaska SEED?
Alaska SEED is a statewide system made up of several parts, including the career ladder and reimbursement funding for professional development, to help early educators better plan, track, and advance their professional development. By joining Alaska SEED, early educators can advance their careers in the early childhood education and school-age fields.
