thread, Alaska’s Child Care Resource & Referral Network, announced a transition of services in the Southeast region today.
In 2008, thread partnered with AEYC Southeast (AEYC-SEA) and ThrivAlaska in Northern/Interior Alaska to deliver early childhood education services in a statewide Network. As a Network, thread services have grown and expanded statewide to better serve the early childhood education community over the years. We are proud of this partnership and its successes, but recognize COVID has changed how we work, play, and communicate.
The challenges of the past year brought us an opportunity to explore new ways to connect you to thread services and expertise across the state. As a result, thread and AEYC-SEA have determined a new, more efficient way forward for thread services in the Southeast region.
Beginning July 1, AEYC-SEA professional development specialists and staff working on thread scopes of work will be directly supervised and supported by thread, rather than through a sub-grant to AEYC-SEA. thread and AEYC-SEA will continue to partner and work closely together to strengthen and advocate for early childhood education. As such, thread will continue to support community engagement work in Southeast this year with a sub-grant to AEYC-SEA.
Although services are transitioning in the Southeast region, thread services in the Northern/Interior region will continue to be delivered by ThrivAlaska. Our Network organizations are making this transition together so that we can continue our commitment to providing you the best service possible.
