Positive Ways to Support Children's Social and Emotional Development  >  Managing Children's Behavior/Guidance
Planting the SEED Social Emotional Development

This training is based on the Alaska Pyramid Model, which supports the social and emotional development and skills of young children. A well-established foundation is necessary for developing nurturing relationships, supportive environments, strong knowledge in developmentally appropriate practices, and positive guidance strategies which allow early educators to resolve challenging behaviors.

  • Session meets 10:00 am to 4:30 pm with a half hour break
  • The 10 hours of training includes 6 contact hours and 4 from homework
  • Lunch is provided.  If you have special dietary needs, please plan on providing your own lunch.

Completion of all four sessions for Entry level 1 is equivalent to completing Level 3 on the SEED Career Ladder. Early educators who have additional education not related to the early childhood field may elect to complete these four entry level sessions to be recognized at a higher level on the SEED Career Ladder.
