It’s election season in Alaska! It’s important to get out and vote, and we encourage you to vote with the needs of young children in mind. Follow these steps to get started:
Did you know that you have to be registered to vote at least 30 days prior to an election in order to vote in that election?
Deadline for Alaska voter registration:
Head to https://voterregistration.alaska.gov/ to register to vote or update your registration online. It’s fast and easy! All you need is your current Alaska driver’s license or State ID. There are also other ways to register to vote. Not sure if you’re registered? Check here.
Know the Issues
We encourage you to attend candidate forums, read candidate survey responses, and ask questions so you know where candidates stand when it comes to issues affecting Alaska’s young children. You can find more information and data about early childhood in Alaska at thread’s Action Center, or search for the hashtag #VoteForKidsAK on social media.
Visit https://myvoterinformation.alaska.gov/ to check your polling place location as well as your absentee application and ballot status. If you would rather vote by mail, you can also request a ballot by mail and send it in at least 10 days before Election Day. Anyone can request a ballot by mail – you don’t need a reason.
