It’s election season in Alaska! It’s important to get out and vote, and we encourage you to vote with the needs of young children in mind.
If children were able to vote, what issues do you think they would care about?
But children are not able to vote. That's why we need you to vote for them. Follow these steps to get started:
Register to Vote
Did you know that you have to be registered to vote at least 30 days prior to an election in order to vote in that election?
Deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election has now passed!
Click here to register to vote in the next election, or to update your registration online. It’s fast and easy! All you need is your current Alaska driver’s license or State ID. There are also other ways to register to vote. Not sure if you’re registered? Check here.
Know the Candidates
Learn more about Alaska’s candidates running for office and where they stand on early childhood education issues by clicking here. We encourage you to attend candidate forums, read candidate surveys, and ask questions about issues affecting young children. You can find more information and data about early childhood in Alaska at thread’s Action Center, or search for the hashtag #VoteForKidsAK on social media.
Click here to find your polling place location, absentee application status, or ballot status. If you would rather vote by mail, you can request a ballot by mail and send it in at least 10 days before Election Day. Anyone can request a ballot by mail – you don’t need a reason.
