The quality of early care and education a child receives is directly related to the education and training of his/her early educator. thread provides multiple training and educational opportunities to individual early educators and early care and education programs. We provide both on-site and classroom based trainings to enrich early care and education experiences for Alaskan children and families. thread is committed to working with individuals, early care and education centers and homes to improve the overall quality of early care and education programs in Alaska.
Early Educators Overview
thread provides training and technical assistance to early educators to improve their skills and the quality of programs in Alaska.

Approval, Licensing and Accreditation
Early care and education programs are required to get Approved or Licensed if caring for more than 4 unrelated children. Accreditation is offered through professional associations and helps programs move from providing safe care to exceptional care.

Professional Development
thread offers workshops and training to help early educators increase knowledge about child development. Find out more about the various programs we offer.

Advocacy
thread encourages early educators to get involved in policy level discussions about early care and education. Their voice and participation will strengthen efforts to increase the quality of early care and education.
