Keeping Children Safe: SIDS, SBS & Child Abuse (IT) - - STATEWIDE WEBINAR

This training will be offered through Go To Meeting which requires participants to have access to a computer, internet, e-mail address, and phone.  Once registration and payment for training is completed, an e-mail will be sent with more details for accessing the training

Childcare providers are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect in the State of Alaska. This training will help you to understand your responsibilities as a mandated reporter, the signs of abuse and neglect, and how to make a report.  You will also learn how to work with families to prevent child abuse and neglect with the children in your care.  Also, during this session, participants will learn how to create a safe sleep environment to reduce the risk of sleep related deaths, as well as, identify startling statistics on Shaken Baby Syndrome and how to prevent and reduce the number of SBS victims.

 Staff caring for infants & toddlers in state licensed child care programs are required to have training in SIDS and SBS at least every 2 years.
