thread works with early educators across the state to help you achieve professional success.


thread provides training to early educators seeking to improve their knowledge and skills. thread training is:

  • Accepted by child care licensing towards annual training requirements
  • Accepted by the Council for Professional Recognition towards the training requirements outlined for earning the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
  • Accepted for placement on the System for Early Care and Education (SEED) career ladder

thread training is available through:

  • Traditional classroom delivery at your nearest thread location
  • Statewide webinars
  • Distance delivery on-line
  • Requesting on-site training for your facility

Technical Assistance

thread can provide free support to licensed child care programs upon request. Programs can:

  • Receive up to ten free hours of consultation annually, additional consultation services beyond the scope of the initial ten free hours can be contracted with thread
  • Request technical assistance for individual children who have challenging behaviors and/or special needs
  • Request programmatic support on any area identified for improvement such as assistance with environmental design, curriculum and activity planning, business practices, developing staff training plans, etc.


thread recognizes early educators who have obtained a college/university degree in early childhood and/or the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Click here to see who has achieved success.

  • Our staff! thread's staff is our number one resource. We encourage you to contact any thread staff member at a nearby thread office with questions or concerns.
  • Statewide Database: Our statewide database for child care providers to include information about openings, costs and services available at individual programs. To update or include your information, use our Child Care Provider Referral Database Enrollment form.
  • Lending library: Free lending libraries including including classroom curricula, children’s books, and toys
  • Business support: Support for starting your early care and education business, to meet licensing requirements and to achieve national accreditation
  • Financial support: Funding support for early educator training and program improvements, and child care assistance
  • Marketing: Free marketing for early care and education programs and free online resources
