UPDATE! Safe Sleeping for Alaska's Babies Campaign
thread's Safe Sleep for Alaska's Babies campaign goal is to replace a crib for a crib in licensed child care programs throughout Alaska. IMPORTANT UPDATE! CRIBS ARE ARRIVING NOW! Working with our partners and as part of the Safe Sleeping for Alaska's Babies (SSAB) campaign, thread is estimating cribs will be ready for free delivery to Anchorage-area early education programs during the last week of November, 2012. Please be on the lookout for more information about delivery times and dates to your program from thread staff or a Lowe's representative in the coming days. thread is partnering with Lowe's to offer free crib delivery to locations in Anchorage and Eagle River. For all other locations, contact mdabrieo@threadalaska.org for delivery location and pick-up details.

Safe Sleeping for Alaska's Babies: Questions and Application!

NEW in 2012!! thread's Quality Initiatives are mini-grants to early educators to support professional development opportunities to advance the quality of their program through training, consultation and financial support.

The Individual Reimbursement Fund (IRF) offers a 75% reimbursement for certain educational expenses up to $500 a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Applicants must be enrolled on the SEED Registry. The IRF form must be submitted within 90 days of the training (after the completion of the training) to receive this funding.

Travel grants are designed to assist early educators in rural areas to be able to travel to training, such as conferences and workshops. The Travel Grant Application must be submitted and approved in prior to the actual travel dates.

Information about the AK IN! program, which provides early care and education referrals to families who have children with special needs.
