thread kicks-off the 8th annual children’s book drive and Book Party in the Park preparations this month. Throughout July, donations of new and gently used children’s books will be collected by Anchorage businesses to be given out to children and families at a Book Party on August 14th. Senator Bill Wielechowski (D – Anchorage) is teaming up with thread to promote the event.

“Reading to children is a critical component of healthy brain development, and it’s a great opportunity to connect with your children and spend quality time,” said Senator Wielechowski. “We are doing this drive so that more children in Anchorage have the opportunity to enjoy reading.”
