Almost 500 new and free cribs, 493 to be exact, will be arriving in communities throughout Alaska in time for the holidays and a federal deadline requirement for child care programs to only use products meeting new national safety standards.  This is the second big shipment of cribs to child care programs. In November, thread worked with partners to deliver over 400 cribs to Anchorage-area programs.

“Starting December 28th, 2012 child care facilities throughout the United States must only use cribs that comply with new U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) standards,” explains Stephanie Berglund, the CEO of thread, Alaska’s Child Care Resource & Referral Network.  [Read More... ]
