Children around the state are headed back to school, or maybe your child is starting preschool or kindergarten for the very first time. Help make it a positive experience with these ideas to celebrate the new school year:
Take lots of pictures! Print them out and then get out the paper and craft supplies to create a collage or memory book together with your child.
Make up a fun song about school and sing it with your child as you get ready in the morning or during drop off and pick up times.
Start a tradition of making a special breakfast or dinner together just for the start of school.
Hide a positive note or a special treat in your child's lunch for the first day.
At the end of the day - during dinner or bedtime, for example - share with each other something good that happened.
